Frederik Vesti »

Birthday: 13-1-2002

Like so many in motorsport, Frederik Vesti's interest in motorsport did not come from strangers. His father - Peter Vesti - became Danish rally champion back in 1998, but later switched to circuit racing, and it was also in karting that Frederik Vesti made his debut as a 10-year-old in 2012.

In 2014 he became Danish champion in the KFJ class and after that he could hardly wait to get into a formula racer. This was possible as a 14-year-old in Danish Formula Ford, where he got 4th place in the championship in his first season. The next year he advanced to Formula 4, where he came second in the Danish championship despite not driving all the races. He was already on his way abroad and drove Formula 4 races in Germany, the USA and Italy in the following years.

His breakthrough came in 2019, when he drove - and won - the Formula Regional European Championship. A regional series for Formula 3 cars and thus a natural step towards the FIA Formula 3 championship, which he entered for the 2020 season. 2 seasons here resulted in two 4th places in the championships before he advanced to FIA Formula 2. Here Frederik Vesti really made his mark on the 2023 season, where he came close to winning the championship with 6 wins, but had to be beaten in the end after an extremely close battle.

That same year, a longer association with the Mercedes F1 team also resulted in him becoming an official test and later reserve driver, and not least spending more and more time in the team's F1 simulator. He has tested Mercedes F1 racers on several occasions, but the opportunity to race in F1 has so far not come. Instead, he has kept up his form since 2023 by racing in various sports car races before becoming a regular driver for Cadillac in 2025.
