Gustav Birch started out like so many young drivers in karting, but it wasn't until he moved up in the car classes that he started to make a name for himself. After a cautious start in Special Saloon Car and the Danish Endurance Championship, he was quickly among the front runners and in 2021 he was really thrown to the lions, so to speak, when he competed for Peugeot in what was at the time the top category in Denmark - the TCR championship. Here too, he was able to do well and he became U23 champion in his first season.
The following year he became part of a new, large Danish team, GMB Motorsport. In addition to participating in the TCR, the team also had international ambitions and Gustav Birch was given the opportunity to drive internationally in the Le Mans Cup 2022 in a Honda NSX GT3. GMB Motorsport dominated the Le Mans Cup and occupied the first 3 places with their 3 cars. This triggered a starting place for Le Mans in 2023 and Gustav Birch got a place in the GMB Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage, which he also drove in the ELMS.
Unfortunately, GMB Motorsport collapsed after the 2023 season and Gustav Birch's international career collapsed (for now) - however, he is still active on the Danish race tracks.
