Comments

Jan Magnussen got at place at the podium at the 24h Le Mans 2017, but it was not a happy man who could look down at the thousands of fans below the podium. What looked like a victory had in a few minutes just been converted to 3rd place.

Early in the race Magnussens car was delayed by a puncture but the team fought back and shortly after they began the final stint in the race they took the lead in the class. The fight was not over - the second placed car was rarely more than a second behind - and the last hour turned into a nerve wrecking race. The decisive moment came at the final lap where Magnussens car got a puncture and had to give up the lead and instead the last lap turned into a fight to reach the finish line at all.

They did - but the 3rd place felt not like much after having been so close to victory.
