Comments

For a long time it looked like a victory - or at least a place at the podium - was waiting for Jan Magnussen in Le Mans 2019. For the first 20 hours the team fought for the lead of the race but then Jan Magnussen was caught behind the 'wrong' safetycar after an accident at the track and suddenly there was a gap at several minutes to the leader. Shortly after Jan Magnussen spun and the car had to return to the pit to repair minor damage. Then any hope of a top result was gone.

A funny detail at the car is that it has 4 drivers marked at the roof. The 4th 'driver' - Tripp ' was a young boy diagnosed with cancer. In 2018 he visited the Corvette team as a part of a 'Make-A-Wish' program. He then got his name at the car and it stayed there. As far as I have been able to find out Tripp has since recovered from his illness.
