Spa 24H 2015 did not start well for Nicki Thiim. The race was hit by violent rainstorms in the beginning and the team had a bad pitstop switching to slicks at the wrong time, which sent them backwards in the race.
The Audi was as far back as 30th place but during the night the team managed to fight back. Early in the morning they were 5th and a bit later 4th.
But that seemed to be it. The 3 leaders were far ahead, but you should never give up. And just half an hour before the finish luck played a part. One of the leaders had to retired with technical defect and Nicki Thiim bagged 3rd at the podium.
