Comments

The 24 hour race at Spa in 2021 was - as usual, one is tempted to say - a tough round. The sudden changes in weather, which are so characteristic of the area, again played a huge role and made it difficult for the participants.

The race was a messy affair for Michael Christensen and it began already before the race. Massive flooding in southern Germany meant that Frikadelli Racing - for whom he was due to drive - had to pull out before the race and another team - Schnabl Engineering - stepped in at short notice. It naturally affected the preparations and the hopes ahead of the race were not high.

Even so, the team got up to number 5, but about halfway it ended abruptly when Michael Christensen was hit by a competitor and ended up in the concrete wall before Eau Rouge. Fortunately, he was not injured - but the car was no longer running.
