Nicki Thiim and Marco Sørensen drove for Beachdean Aston Martin Racing in the 24-hour race at Spa 2022. With only 3½ hours remaining, Nicki Thiim was involved in an intense battle for 3rd place, during which the two cars slightly touched each other in the Eau Rouge corner.
If there's one place on a racetrack where you shouldn't touch another car, it's Eau Rouge! Nicki did a complete 360 degree spin - without hitting anyone or anything - and got the car back to the pits with no damage. A little later, however, they were involved in an accident between a couple of other cars and the possibility of a top result was lost.
