Michael Christensen had a very successful karting career winning multiple championships and coming second in the World Championship in Formula A in 2006. This showed his talent and expectations were high when he switched to single seaters in 2008.
Racing in Formula BMW he came second in the World Finals 2008 and several victories in 2009 paved the ground for further avancement in the single seater classes. However progress stalled a bit in 2010/11 in GP3, where he rarely was a factor and instead it was in GT-racers he again found success.
In 2012 he became a part of the Porsche Young Driver program and this led to him becoming a works driver for Porsche in 2014. Already in 2015 he came close to winning the World Championship for GT-drivers. But he missed a single race in the series when he was driving in the american championship (also for Porsche). The points his teammate scored to the World Championship made sure that he won the championship while Michael came third.
Michael Christensen has during the years raced in all the classic endurance races - and significantly he has won most of them. Sebring 12H, Daytona 24H, LeMans 24H and Spa 24H are all on the list of endurance victories and after the 2018/19 season he could finally lift the trophy for the World Championship in the GTE-class.
