BMW attended the official Le Mans test day with 3 cars (no. 15, 16 and 17). Tom Kristensen was driving car number 16 teamed with Joachim Winkelhock, but at the race BMW only entered two cars (no. 15 and 17) and Tom Kristensen was transferred to car number 17.

Provence Moulage has made a special "N"-version of their K1491 kit. The "N"-kit contains a different body where the extra light the car used in the night hours is visible. As the standard kit the winning car (number 15) or the Tom Kristensen car (number 17) can be built from the kit.
