Tom Kristensen won his 9th (and last) 24h Le Mans in 2013. But it was a victory that didn't bring any pleasure because his fellow Dane - Allan Simonsen - had tragically died early in the race.

Tom Kristensen had intended to dedicate a victory to his late father who died a few months before the race. But from the podium he instead honoured Allan Simonsen. 'My father will have to wait', an emotional Tom Kristensen told Danish televison and his dedication to Allan Simonsen was much appreciated by the thousands of Danes at the track.
