Tom Kristensen and Rinaldo Capello was on loan from Audi to Lamborghini - who were represented by the team Reiter Engineering - at the final FIA GT-race in 2003 at Monza. They were there to give the Lamborghini Murcielago its race debut in the GT-category.
But it was to be a troubled event for the Lamborghini. During free practice it became obvious, that there was still some way to go before the car was competitive. Engine problems meant that the car lacked nearly 20 mph at the straigh compared to the pacesetters. At a high-speed track like Monza this was a serious setback.
Capello made it through first qualifying as 15th fastest and after that Reiter Engineering decided to withdraw the car from the race.

The Lamborghini only made a short appearance at Monza. Still, pictures from the event shows the car in slightly different liveries. In some pictures it runs with Michelin stickers in each corner of the front and the rear - in other pictures it lacks those stickers. This model shows the car with the Michelin stickers.
Another odd thing is, that the car was running without driver names.
The model is a redecorated Schuco Junior-line (no. 27251). It is a very cheap model and it is not from the top-drawer. Especially the wheels look a little bad, but the model is very easy to convert as it is already made in carbonfibre-look and you only have to mount the decals.
