Jan Magnussen drove in the WTCC-final in Macau as teammate for Andy Priaulx using the BMW 320si, he had used in the Danish Touringcar Championship.

Priaulx was driving in a one-car team in WTCC 2006, but in Macau it is essential to have a teammate giving a tow at the extralordinarily long straight. Jan Magnussen did a fine job during qualification slipstreaming Andy Priaulx to pole position. Priaulx made good use of the pole converting it to victory in race 1 and was later able to secure the World Championship with 5th in the second race.

For Jan Magnussen both races ended in the wall, but he had already played his role in the race by assisting Priaulx.
