The Corvettes didn't have an easy time at Le Mans in 2013. During qualifying it became clear that the cars lacked the speed required to match the competitors and the strategy for the race was thus changed to keeping the cars on the track with stable laptimes and then strike if it started to rain or if the competitors hit trouble.
This worked quite well. After a steady race Jan Magnussen finished just outside the podium in 4th place - but without ever being able to challenge for the podium.
