Le Mans 2009 was a huge challenge for Jan Magnussen. His team had taken the class lead from the start and everything went according to plan until Jan in the middle of the night suddenly got sick and was unable to drive. The two other drives had to share all the driving between them - even after Jan told the team he was ready again after he had been treated by the team doctors during the night. The Corvette team boss took at look at him and decided, that he would only let Jan into the car if it was absolutely necessary.
It wasn't - because the fight for the win ended a few hours before the finish when the second Corvette had to retire from the lead with gearbox troubles. After this the Jan Magnussen Corvette could cruise to victory.
