Jan Magnussen did not reach the finish line at Nürburgring in 2012 - but it was a close call. Early in the race the car had a puncture and with a long, long way back to the pit a lot of damage was inflicted at the car before the driver gave up and the car had to be transported back to the pit. A lot of time went with this and any hope of a good result was gone, but the team got going again and Jan Magnussen was ready to take the car to the finish line when the engine expired with only 25 minutes left and the team had to retire.
